2005 AHSG Track & Field Day
Monday, May 23, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Broadneck Park Friday, May 27, 3 - 6 p.m. (awards 5 - 6 p.m.), Bates Athletic Complex Download Registration form
NEW this year: Track and Field Day will not be a one day event - there is a choice of days to attend. Coordinators of the Track and Field Day want to ensure that each child has ample opportunities to work toward goals and achieve fitness. It is very difficult to give 100% effort to the five testing events all in one day. The Presidential Physical Fitness test allows for repeated tries of each event. Take advantage of this by attending more than one Track and Field Day!
What to expect: Children will be put in groups and proceed to stations to learn correct form and then participate in the events for the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. The Physical Fitness Test recognizes students for their level of physical fitness in 5 events: curl-ups or partial curl-ups, shuttle run, endurance run, pull-ups or right angle push-ups, and V-sit or sit and reach. These events must be performed properly in order to be counted toward the awards.
Please arrive 30 minutes early to check in and receive your name tag. We will be attempting to accomplish a great deal in two hours. Please make every effort to be on time.
Please have children wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
As stated in the registration form, this is not a drop-off event. Parents are asked to stay and help with the events. We thank you in advance for all your help!!
